Sequential Images Class Practice

In class this week I created sequential images. Sequential images are images that follow a specific order to tell a story. In class we practiced taking sequential images with our partners, I did it as group with another student and did it using an iPhone 13 and you can see further details below. We also learnt to convert pictures to jpeg or png formats and how to create contact sheets of said sequence.

I used dolls to create a sequence called "The attack". The pictures were in HEIC which i converted to jpeg.  I then created contact sheets of my images using an online contact sheet generator as seen below

The next thing I did was edit my images on Pixlr using Pixlr E editor. I opened Pixlr E amd clicked on ''create new''. I then get a dialog box and go to the  print section and chose "A3". I gave my image a name and chose a white background and clicked create. I now have a canvas on Pixlr. The next thing I did was choose my images. These images needed to be in a jpeg or png format (which I converted). I clicked on file in the top menu and then clicked on open images. I selected the five images i wanted to use and opened the files. These opened in Pixlr and chose "Full HD" for the formats. I clicked on each tab that opened to see the image checking the quality to make sure they were all clear and none were blurry. I then went to "select" in the top menu and clicked "select all". After that, I went to "edit" in the top menu and clicked on "copy", went back to my canvas and went back to "edit" in the top menu and clicked on "paste". My image appeared on the canvas. I did these steps for all my images. I then clicked on the "move" tool and clicked on my image to move it to the appropriate places. I did the same for my other images. After that, I clicked on the "text" tool in the left hand menu as I wanted to add my title. I then clicked on canvas and a dialog box popped up asking if I would like to make a text layer. I double clicked on text and wrote the title, year it was done, and who did it. I then selected it and chose black as the colour of my font and my font style to be " almondia " and the size to be 92pts and made the text bold. I proceeded by using the format tool to change the alignment so it will be right aligned. After that I checked that everything was alright and went to file in the top menu, clicked on "export" and then clicked on "Quick export image as png" and was able to upload the images unto my blog.

I do feel like this project could have been better but it was my first time so it is okay. I think the story is pretty clear, it starts from the dolls sensing something and looking up and continues to show a sequence of a monster attacking them. I feel like I could have made the arrangement neater and should have probably used six pictures instead of five. I also should have been consistent with the distance between the camera and the dolls as one of the pictures seem closer than the others.

  1. You need a bit more of an introduction here to explain sequential images and what you were doing with your ideas. You also could reflect here on your final work at the end. please try to complete a piece of research on your next post on one of the artists and sequential image before class tomorrow
