AP 2: Pre Project Outline

In week 3 I attended my tutorial in which we discussed my project ideas and timescale. I will be designing a library and community hub that will service 5000 residents. I will be required to create 2 elevations, 2 concept drawings, 2 section drawings, a site plan and a 3D model.

In my tutorial we discussed the research work I will be doing, I was given some additional examples to look at which included the existing library in Cromwell. We also went over the mode in which I will present my work, we decided on me doing a combination of hand and digital drawings to better show my skills. Some corrections were made to my timescale aswell, such as the concepts sketches, elevations and sections being completed by week 5, my site map by week 4. My next step after the tutorial was to decide on my dimensions for the building, the demographic of Cromwell and how it can impact my design and my materials. We also decided that my materials can be sourced from both Connecticut and New York State. Finally, my last task was to visit the David Wilson Library in University of Leicester and take pictures.

  1. Okay good to see this on here! Over the next few days, posts on dimensions, demographics and working on your site map are essential.
