Ideas into research

This shows my initial ideas for my project. Here is the link to the full document for my ideas into research.

In the document I talk about authors who have ties to Connecticut such as Mark Twain and I also talk about his book Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain, 1884

The book was first released in 1884 and the book tells the tale of Huck and Jim. The story is set in pre-civil war Mississippi and Huck, a teenage boy who faked his death to escape home encounters a runaway slave named Jim (Gale, n.d). The story shows their travels down the Mississippi river and how Huck struggles between his own moral values in comparison to societal expectations (TheGuardian, 2012). The book touches on themes such as race, individuality, societal hypocrisy and conscience (Gale, n.d)

I also talked about my inspiration for the building design and also did research into a particular building that inspired me

Mountain Dwellings, Bjarke Ingels, 2008

I intend on doing a stacked design displaying a contemporary style of architecture. I also want to include the design of a roof terrace. I will be researching Bjarke Ingels as he has works that display my idea such as Mountain dwellings.

  1. Okay, good to see this on here, but by this point in the term, was expecting to see much more in the way of development of your project through hand made or digital drawings/further research. The second post based on class tasks was the colour studies we were working on which should have been further developed or completed in your study time. In fact what we discussed in the pre project tutorial. It is advisable that you start posting what we discussed and stay up to date with your work.
