In preparation for the upload of my Art Portfolio 2 project, I made some updates to my existing website

I started by getting rid of the decorative lines I had in my header and footer as they were messing up the movement of the website

 

I also changed the colour of both my header and footer. I toned it down to a grey colour which gave my website a more professional look

 

 

I also changed the colour of my social links to black as it matched the grey better 

           

I then changed my font on my homepage to 'Heebo' including the navigation buttons

I then went to the 'add elements' section and clicked on upload image in order to upload my logo design. I also reduced the font size of my navigation bar to 18px

I felt like my homepage had to much excess space on it so I added a quote to it which I thought related well with the image I had set as my homepage.


I also edited my biography in my about page, focusing more on what I have learnt and my hopes for the future. I also changed the writing to first person

I changed the font of my about to 'Kepler' but maintained the font size. I also changed the background colour to white

 

After that I added a mew page for my AP2 project and gave it a title

 

I also inserted an image of my model and included a button that links to the page featuring my project 

 

I ended up changing the design of all the buttons in the portfolio section to fit the changed aesthetic of the website. I chose a rectangular shaped button and also changed the colour to grey and the font to 'Kepler' in size 18px

 

In the new page added for my project, I included the project name and a short description of it.

 

Lastly I clicked on add elements and selected a gallery. I then selected add media in order to add my design boards

 I then adjusted the gallery to my liking

Finally I previewed my website to make sure everything was working properly. I also checked the mobile view and everything was to my satisfaction

I am choosing Mick Pearce as he is an architect who has done a lot of work in restoring and transforming buildings (mainly in Central Africa) while also minimizing damage to the environment. In recent years he has done more sustainable architecture involving biomimicry and most recently, passive cooling systems. Initial Ideas (Crazy Eights)

After looking at the project brief of the three themes (Primitivism, pop art, industrial) we were tasked with generating ideas based on our chosen theme. I chose primitivism as my theme as I think it gives me a more creative route and the theme is a bit broader than the rest. I started with creating a mind map I wrote down all the things I associated with the theme such as nature, history, land and so on. This helped me not to think too much on the specifics and to see how many different sections of primitivism I could choose from when creating the final project. After that we did a task called 'Crazy Eights' which required us to draw our ideas and develop them within a set time frame as it was supposed to be just a quick sketch of what we were thinking about regarding the project at the time. Research Post: Abijo Mosque by PWDC

 In this piece of research, I will be looking at the design of the Abijo Mosque in Lagos, Nigeria done by Patrickwaheed Design Consultancy (PWDC). The building takes it's name from the location and was a donation to the Abijo community through an organization called 'Crescent Bearers' in order to promote religious, social and cultural community centered activities.   Abijo Mosque (2020) by Patrickwaheed Design Consultancy   The buildings style is of contemporary architecture while also combining some geometric elements in its structure. It also takes inspiration from traditional Yoruba mud buildings as a way to reflect on the culture and environment of the people. The building can be entered from three different sides and there is a mezzanine floor level with a separate entrance for the female worshippers.
