Final Reflection

As this term has finally come to an end I have taken some time to reflect on everything I have learnt and been introduced to these past three months. I started with some photography work in sequential images, then practiced and developed my skills in graphic design and finally worked on my final project based on my continuation route which is architecture. Among all these, I also included research posts in each aspect of digital arts I was practicing at the time. The first practical task I did was making sequential images. I had taken a photography class in High School but it was never this in depth or practical so this task gave me a better understanding of how to take pictures properly and edit them. It also introduced me to a lot of technical parts of photography such as the conversion, editing and uploading of images which has also extended into the work I do in my other modules, such as 2D/3D media processes when uploading my pictures unto my Instagram sketchbook Creating designs ...

Website Feedback & UX Testing

Image
This week we did feedback and UX Testing on our Wix website. We created a google form asking some questions and then embedded it into the navigation bar. We then published our website and shared the website link in order to test each others sites and get feedback. My live site address is now https://aaeeshabraimoh.wixsite.com/aaeesha-braimoh .  Please click there to view it These are the questions and the responses I received, I will go through them and make comments. I will also update the website and republish it I got 5 responses in total I asked about the design and colour of my homepage first. Although a majority thought it was very good, some still just put 'good' which means there may still be room for some minor changes The next thing I asked about was my navigation. I clearly have some things to fix seeing as some people chose that it was 'okay'. I checked my navigation and all the buttons work so I think it is the design I have to change as it is hard to see t...

Website Creation: Gallery Portfolio

Image
In this post I will be creating my portfolio and website gallery on my Wix website. I will also be adding my finalised Architecture Project unto the gallery The first thing I changed was the background colour of my portfolio page. I right clicked on the mouse and clicked on 'change background' and selected the colour I wanted. I did this to show consistency with all my other pages and to also make the colour more inviting for viewers.     I then added an image to the page by clicking on the 'Add' button on my left hand menu and then clicked on 'image' and on 'upload image'. I then chose an image of my project from my files. I proceeded to add the image unto my page also using the transform tools to reposition the image to the center. My next step was to create a new page. I went to the pages menu on the left hand margin and clicked on 'New Page' and clicked on it to change the name to my Project name, 'SolarHaven Home'. I then clicked on ...

SolarHaven Home: Design Update

Image
This post is to shows the corrections made on my architectural project, SolarHaven Home. The aim was to get rid of the lines left when designing my project on Sketchup and to add a background aswell. I first started by getting the screenshot of my design on photoshop to edit it I then clicked on the 'clone stamp tool' in the left hand menu and started erasing the unwanted lines on my work. I made sure I was careful with it as it could easily erase other properties I didn't wish for it to erase. After erasing my lines, I went to 'edit' in the top menu and then clicked on 'sky replacement' and selected the one I wanted Finally, I used the crop tool to crop the bottom and saved my work as a psd and jpeg I did the same for all sides of my home and here are the final outcomes; FRONT VIEW SIDE VIEW (1) SIDE VIEW (2) BACK VIEW

Design boards Process: Materials and sustainability

Image
I have done my concept board and now I have to complete the rest of my design boards. Today I will be doing my board on materials and sustainability. I first started by creating a new canvas to write on using Photoshop. I did this by clicking on 'New' in the top menu and then I clicked on 'Print' in the dialog box and then chose A3 changing the orientation to landscape. I also chose a white background. I then selected my logo from my concept board, clicked on 'edit' in the top menu and selected 'copy', went to my new canvas, clicked on 'edit' and then 'paste' . I did the same for my project title. I also used the transform tool to adjust them to my liking I then began to add my text by using the text tool in the left hand menu. I added the title of my board (Materials and Sustainability) using 'Garamond' the same font as before and 36pts as the font size. After that, I started to add my image and type the information along with i...

Research Post: Site and Demographics

The location of my building is in Adeyemo Alakija street in Nigeria. This street is located in GRA, Ikeja which is the capital city of Lagos State. As of the last census done in 2016, this city had a population of 317,614 which has then increased over the years with a projection of 470,200 residents in 2022 (citypopulation.de, 2022) This city is a well-planned residential and commercial town which houses the wealthier citizens living in the mainland of the country. The Lagos State House, which is one out of the two residential houses the Governor of Lagos state owns and resides in is located in GRA, Ikeja. GRA initially housed only government officials (as the name stands for Government Reserved Area) hence why many of them still live there and it is still considered an exclusive place to live in till date. ' In Nigeria, GRA - can be interpreted to be a euphemism for affluence and a better standard of living' ( Emordi, 2022). The Governor of Lagos State residing there also c...
